There are many ways and methods to prepare a good coffee. But in every preparation method sometimes something can goes wrong. I have been writing coffee and “barista” blogs since 2011 and I have been practicing with many kinds of coffee making. Here you have the opportunity to learn and practice on coffee making, and profit from my experiences.
Find out which coffee preparation is best to your personally and needs. Here you can get all the tips a “barista” and coffee lover can give.
Which are the best coffee preparation types?
This is a question which cannot be answered generally and only with few common sentences. You cannot also prepare an incredible coffee without an expensive coffee or espresso machine. Of course it always depends on the quality of the coffee beans. And at the end of your efforts, the coffee should simply be aromatic and taste good and not bitter or sour.
Types of Coffee Extraction
Whether filter coffee or espresso, the aroma, the caffeine and the wonderful taste from the coffee beans must be dissolved in the water, in order to prepare them right and enjoy them.
There are different methods to extract your aromatic coffee from ground coffee beans.
Ground Coffee in Direct Contact with Water for a Period of Time
The ground coffee comes directly in contact with hot or cold water. Two examples are the French Coffee Press or the preparation of Cold Brewed Coffee. The so-called cowboy coffee also has direct contact with the coffee powder.
Filter coffee is probably one of the best known types of coffee. There are different filters and materials to prepare it. Normally for the preparation you can use the classic traditional filter coffee machine, which I know very well from the 90s. But also the hand filters and cotton filters are an integral part of coffee world.
The Preparation of Coffee and Espresso with the Help of Pressure
Espresso makers are preparing coffee with pressure. Here high pressure water is pressed through the espresso coffee powder. When we prepare espresso with the espresso maker or the vacuum principle, the procedures are similar but with different results and lower pressures. With this way you get classic coffee and no espresso!
Some Other Ways of Coffee Preparation
There are also other ways of coffee making before I explain you about the coffee sieve carrier. For example, the AeroPress coffee maker. The AeroPress uses espresso or fine-drip grind coffee with a big surface area to quickly extract rich, full flavour without bitterness. It totally immerses the coffee grounds in hot water and applies pressure and filtering at the same time, resulting in even extraction for rich, full flavour. But the preparation with the Aeropress or the Karlsbader porcelain coffee makers is not so easy.
Which preparation is the most comfortable?
Coffee preparation is a much-discussed point in coffee world and enjoyment
There are now a lot of studies and post studies about it. Generally, in our days they continuously improving the reputation and preparation of coffee.
Today, coffee is more balanced and many experts believe that the effect of coffee on the cardiovascular system is very positive.
This post Study “Long-Term Coffee Consumption and Risk of Cardiovascular Disease” of 2013 comes to the following conclusion:
“Moderate coffee consumption was associated with lower CVD risk, with the lowest CVD risk at 3 to 5 cups per day of coffee consumption, and heavy coffee consumption was not associated with CVD risk“.
In this study, no correlation between strong coffee consumption and cardiovascular disease could be found. In addition, people with a consumption of 3 to 5 cups (over many years) had the lowest risk of cardiovascular diseases.
This is remarkable! If these results are confirmed that means that the previous opinions were wrong.
